From bows to clothes...

My creative side has been running wild lately with ribbon and transfers... :) As a stress relief I have turned to creating clothes and bows for my little one and all the little ones in coming soon to our family! It's been quite fun and I am having a blast teaching myself how to make things for the babies. James loves that I am making them, and not buying them! :)

Fetal development in pregnancy week 32

In the latest womb reports, our amazing baby has now developed sensitivity to temperature!

Which means I'm likely to get a swift kick if I put a hot pad or bag of ice on my ginormous belly.

For the Elton John lovers out there - baby’s got blue eyes.

Actually, even if you're too young to know who Elton is, all babies have blue eyes at this point.

This could easily change after birth (or even between now and labor), but for the time being, blue it is.

Thanks to their recently matured lungs and a strengthening immune system, over 90% of babies born in their 32nd week survive!

So - go ahead and throw a mini-party right now because it’s pretty much a done deal - we've got a human-bean that's going to make it!

That's not to say we actually want our wee womb-squatter to pack their bags and move out now, because they'd still end up in the ICU for a good while, rather than in our arms at home.

Babies are best when fully baked! But only 7 more weeks to go!! :D

A few last minute touches...

James and I chose to go with a plate design for our guest book rather than the traditional signed book. The plate will be displayed at the wedding for everyone to sign. After the wedding we can bake the plate and will be able to use it as a serving dish!! :-) The plate arrived yesterday and we are so excited about it. We can not wait until after the wedding so we can serve our first family meal from this beautiful dish! Only 10 more days to go!!!! We can't wait to see everyone. :-)

DIY Bride

Making a list, checking it twice....

Boy what a busy week!! For so long it felt like there was nothing that could be done planning wise, but boy does it hit you when it comes! This has been a very productive week and I am very happy to say the items just keep getting crossed off the list, which makes me sleep better at night! I think last night I actually scared James (oops), I was just a little stressed... :-) Luckily today we were able to complete some items and get others very close to finished.

Today we...designed table names, designed rehearsal dinner invitations, worked on the programs (almost done, just minor details left!!) and worked on the seating chart (this is ever changing, and I'm sure will until the week of...haha)

You will have to wait to see the table names until the big day...those are James' pride and joy and are top secret. :-)

The bridesmaids also received their invitations today for the luncheon. I am pretty excited about having tea with everyone; Now I just have to find a nice hat to match my dress! :-)

I plan on Friday to go to my final dress fitting and to begin my search for the perfect tea hat. I still have to finish flower purchases, buy scoops for the candy bar, work on itineraries, and a few other things but it is all coming together.

Wedding Cake Sample and more...

Today we received our sample wedding cake for tasting; the boys absolutely loved it! Whew! We were worried because our cake lady really wanted us to use fondant but we are not fans of fondant at all. Luckily her version of fondant is made with white chocolate so it is not as chewy as regular fondant. James is impressed with the strawberry filling we chose, and Christian just loves it all! :-) (Boys are so easy! LOL)

This week we have been crossing off as much as we can from the to do list that never ends!
*Mom so sweetly finished up the candy purchases for the candy bar.
*I found the cutest "take out" containers ever (on sale!!)for the guests to scoop their candy favors into.
*We picked out frames to use for the table names, which James is ecstatic about (hint, hint...it's all about sports!) so we will work on the design for the frame names this coming week.
*Invites for the Bridesmaids luncheon are all sent out.
*Rehearsal is set
*Found earrings for the big day! (this has been a challenge!)

We are still working on finding someone to help with our hair ordeal, but hopefully we can work that out this week as well as finish the programs, the day of itineraries and detailed directions for our out-of-towners, among many other things.

As for today, it's a great day. Off to the pool to work on our family wedding pre-tan. :-)

Bridesmaid's Dresses

All I can say is I pray no one needs alterations!!! After 3 changes in the shipping date the dresses have yet to be shipped.... with only 37 days until go time I am a little worried, but I have faith...LOL Everything will be just fine. (I will just keep telling myself that!)

I also haven't had my final dress fitting and my hair appointment was a mess!! So... Lots to do and only 37 days to do it in. Wish me luck! :-)

Limousine

Today we finally decided and booked a limo for the big day! Classic Limo & Sedan Service gave us a great deal on a brand new Chrysler 300 Limo...
The limo will pick up and deliver both parties to the church and then take the wedding party to the reception...now we just have to find a way home...haha

This is my week so start checking off my to-do list and what a way to get it started!

Only 55 days to go!!! Get excited... I sure am!!! :-)

Confirmed!!

So I just have to blogbrag about my hubby-to-be! James has been taking classes at the church religiously since August and just a few weekends ago he was confirmed in the Catholic Church and received his first communion!!! :-) YAY... he worked so hard and we are all very proud of him and were happy to share that special moment in his life.

Christian has also been working hard at his RE class and is practicing the next few weeks to receive the sacrament of communion as well and they are enjoying every minute of it. Christian will get his first communion in early May, just in time! I am so happy for my boys and can't wait to see them at the wedding!! :-)

The invitations went out this week! I will be posting more detailed directions shortly for those who are traveling. Only 67 days to go...it's crunch time!! James, Christian and his best man Willie got fitted this week as well and had a great time bonding over tuxes apparently :-) He said the swatch from the bridesmaid dresses matched perfectly, which makes me very happy!

Garden Shower

I was showered with love today from family and friends. It was an amazing day filled with delicious food, wonderful gifts, and lots of laughs. I cannot begin to thank everyone who helped make this day all that it was! You are all fantastic women who I love so much!!

I love them both and they will both be at the wedding but the million dollar question is which song will be our first dance?? Can you guess?

150 Days!!!

Where has the time gone? There are only 150 days left until our big day! We got a confirmation e-mail this morning stating that James' wedding band has been shipped :) Yesterday I finally received my swatch from Jasmine's Bridal, so we will be ordering bridesmaids dresses first thing after the new year! We are very excited about that. It typically takes up to 12 weeks for the dresses to arrive so it is very important we order them soon. There is still so much left to do and not so much time to do it all. These past 8 months have gone by so fast! It has been such an amazing time in our lives.

As for now, "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

James' Wedding Band

I just placed the order for James' wedding band! It should arrive in just a few weeks. The band James chose is Tungsten metal; it is one of the strongest metals available. We are so excited, it is so hard to believe our big day is only about 150 days away.

Gifts and Favors!

3 more to do's crossed off our list today! YAY! :-) James and I ordered our bridesmaids gifts, groomsmen gifts, and wedding favors today through The Knot. (I love them!) We are so excited for everyone to see what we have picked out, but you will have to wait, no hints from me! (-;
Only a little over 5 months to go and we are counting down every day! These months have all gone by so fast! It's hard to believe that James and I have been engaged now for 8 months! I love him more everyday!
Next on my to do's is to find a place I would like to do my hair and actually order the bridesmaids dresses! They are kinda giving me a hard time with swatches but I almost have it figured out, hopefully!
James has decided on a ring he would like and we are going this weekend to find the size of his finger! He has also decided on a tuxedo for himself and his boys. Hopefully they will make it to the store this weekend to try everything on.
Lots to do and little time to do it, but loving every second of it!
